Across Missouri - April, May and June: Volunteer Marsh Bird Surveys. The Missouri Marsh Bird Survey Project is conducted by citizen scientists in 2013! Do you dream of slogging through marshes at dawn searching for some of the rarest birds in North America? Join the Project!! Group training sessions have already occurred, but we will provide individual training for dedicated volunteers! Please contact ethan.duke@mrbo.org for more information.
Grand Pass Conservation Area - April 20th - May 25th: MRBO's premier spring migration banding station open for the season! Individuals, families, and student groups welcome. Please call 660-886-8788 to schedule a date and/or a custom field program!
Weston Bend State Park - May 11th: The fourth annual Wings Over Weston festival. Join us as we celebrate International Migratory Bird Day at this outstanding public festival open that has something for everyone. There will be food, games, face-painting, arts and crafts, a native plant sale, and live birds from warblers to raptors to view up-close. Also excellent birding during the peak of migration!
