It has been our great fortune to have many volunteers assist us at the Grand Pass Conservation Area banding station, on the prairie MAPS project, and at various community events.
Our volunteer force and training process has grown with the scope of our work. We are currently establishing a training program for banding operations with the Missouri Master Naturalists Hi-Lonesome Chapter.
Monitoring, ID training workshops, and opportunities to observe can be found with the information on our homepage under "upcoming events."
Several volunteers have been trained in mist-net operation and extraction. These committed folks were able to gain experience and confidence and now regularly handle birds, making them a critical part of our monitoring opration.
You can volunteer in MRBO programs even without getting up before dawn. Take a look at our projects, community, and education sections and you may find a way to help us that is just right for you.
